The Indiana Recovery Alliance is a human rights advocacy organization that operates under the philosophy of compassionate accountability. Our goal is to educate the community and promote the health and dignity of individuals affected by substance use. We respectfully collaborate with people to assist in any positive change, as defined by them, starting from their individual circumstances without any biases or condemnation for their chosen lifestyle. Our efforts advance policies, practices, and programs that address the adverse effects of drug use, including overdose, HIV, viral hepatitis, chaotic drug use, and incarceration. Additionally, we support initiatives like the needle exchange Bloomington program and the needle exchange Bloomington Indiana, which we view as essential components of harm reduction strategies.
Compassionate accountability emphasizes tolerance and respect for the personal choices of others, while upholding human rights in the face of substance use issues. It prioritizes evidence over anecdote, courage over cowardice, and a commitment to doing what is right. Our message is clear: 'We love you and respect your dignity as a human being.' This principle drives initiatives like the Evansville Recovery Alliance, which aims to protect individual and community health, even against opposition. Programs such as the needle exchange in Bloomington, Indiana, are prime examples of our dedication to addressing viral hepatitis and supporting recovery within the communities we serve.
