The Indiana Recovery Alliance is a drug-user human rights advocacy organization that operates under the philosophy of harm reduction to educate the community and to promote the health and dignity of the individuals and communities impacted by drug use. We respectfully collaborate with people to assist in any positive change, as a person defines it for themselves, beginning where the person is at, with no biases or condemnations for the person’s chosen lifestyle. Our efforts advance policies, practices and programs that address the adverse effects of drug use including overdose, HIV, hepatitis C, chaotic use and incarceration.
Harm reduction emphasizes tolerance, respect for the personal choices of others and respect for human rights. It favors evidence over anecdote, courage over cowardice, and doing what is right. Our message is "We love you, and respect your dignity as a human being." It means doing what has to be done to protect individual and community health in the face of opposition from all quarters because it is the right thing to do.
Our work is informed by multiple studies and historical policy changes. Check out the following information on the historical and social significance of harm reduction and syringe service programs here.

Many Pathways is a group meeting ran by a licensed clinical social worker and our team to offer compassionate and radical love, and to inspire the power to change and meaningfully contribute. This meeting offers a place to connect with other folks affected by substance use under a harm reduction philosophy.
Our Street Outreach team and coordinators go out multiple days a week to encampments in our community. While we are not able to offer syringes, we can supply necessities such as food and hygiene supplies, and clean drug-related supplies for those who use. If you are currently in an encampment that is not currently reached and are interested in receiving supplies, please contact our primary Street Outreach Coordinator, Kyle Halverson, at (910) 215-4088.
